A buck-toothed, bespectacled gang chief, described by Batman as “a serious believer in the supernatural,†whose most prized possession is a “Chinese lucky sword,†a sort of “super-rabbit’s foot,†which he scrupulously carries with him on each of his gang’s many robberies. According to the Fang, the lucky sword “was forged 1,000 years ago in the ancient East, and brings luck and success to whoever uses it!â€
In November-December 1954, after the Fang has been forced to abandon his sword at the scene of a robbery, Batman, Robin, and Superman attempt to use the sword as bait in an elaborate scheme to lure the villain into a trap. The scheme goes somewhat awry when the Fang makes Batman and Robin his prisoners, but Superman ultimately appears on the scene, captures the Fang and his cohorts, and rescues the Dynamic Duo from their clutches (WF No. 73: “Batman and Superman, Swamis,Inc!â€) (TGSB).
