Private Jones
A U.S. Army private based at Camp Metropolis, who becomes temporarily endowed with super-powers identical to Superman's when "a freakish phenomenon" involving lightning and an experimental "helmet radio" imbues his body with "an electrical pattern" identical to Superman's in July 1958. There is little noteworthy about Jones's brief career as a superman, but the interlude does give Superman the opportunity to trick a pair of foreign spies into believing that he has developed a technique for transferring his powers at will into the bodies of American soldiers (S No. 122/3: "The Super-Sergeant").
