John Wilkes Booth

An American actor who was most famous for assassinating Abraham Lincoln. A professional and extremely popular stage actor of his day, Booth was a sympathizer of the Confederate States of America who was dissatisfied by the outcome of the American Civil War. Due to the interference of an adult Lex Luthor, Superboy fails in his attempt to prevent Booth's assassination of Lincoln during a time-trip to 1865. Neither Superboy nor Luthor actually encounter either man in the course of these events (SB No. 85/2, Dec 1960: "The Impossible Mission!").

(Note: On the parallel world of Earth-3, John Wilkes Booth was the President of the United States assassinated by actor Abraham Lincoln. This series of events is the exact reverse of the way in which they were actually played out in most of the other parallel universes (Justice League of America No. 29, Aug 1964: "Crisis on Earth-Three!")).
