Alex Evell
An unscrupulous politician, determined to seize control of the Daily Planet so that he can put an end to its political exposés and use it to promote his own dishonest political fortunes, who hires a gang of hoodlums to burn the Planet's delivery trucks, beat up its newsboys, and otherwise terrorize the Planet's publisher into selling out to him. Evell and his henchmen are brought to justice by Superman in the summer of 1940 (S No. 5/2). (TGSB)
