A Metropolis gang chief who attempts to capitalize on the fact that a mysterious space virus has temporarily transformed Superman's X-ray vision into "deep-freeze" vision—causing his eyes to radiate intense cold, instead of heat, whenever he uses his X-ray vision—by tricking Superman into freezing the dynamos at the Metropolis power plant so that he and his henchmen can loot the city during the resulting blackout. The scheme is thwarted by Superman in November 1957 (S No. 117/3: "The Man with the Zero Eyes!"). (TGSB)
